LINDA GITAU · UI/UX DESIGNER

I design for the people usually designed around.

Every project starts as noise.

Research is how the pattern shows itself.

Insight becomes interface.

Three case studies. One that goes all the way down.

LINDA GITAU · UI/UX DESIGNER

Insight becomes interface.

I design for the people usually designed around. Three case studies, and one that goes all the way down.

01

One flagship case study

Problem to prototype, with the research cited.

02

V1 and V2, both shown

Including the version I decided was wrong.

03

Scope stated plainly

Concept work and thesis work, each labelled as what it is.

EVERYTHING I'VE MADE

The work, and where to find it.

Design is the main event. The rest is the technical half of my background, and it is the reason I know what can actually be built.

FLAGSHIP

UI/UX Design Portfolio

Three projects in full. SolMoTech, a digital-access ecosystem for communities the internet has not reached, taken from cited research to a working prototype. WanderLust, an end-to-end travel booking flow. Uzima Water, a smart water dashboard. Including the version of SolMoTech I decided was wrong, and why.

HOW I WORK

Seven steps, and the one that matters most is the last.

Discover

Understand the people and the problem before touching a screen.

Define

Turn what I found into a problem worth solving.

Ideate

Explore widely, including the ideas that will not work.

Design

Build the flows, the system, the screens.

Prototype

Make it real enough that someone can use it.

Test

Watch people struggle, and write down where.

Iterate

Change my mind, in public, with reasons.

Iterate is last on the list and first in importance. It is where V1 became V2.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Linda, a curious and purpose-driven designer.

I love turning ideas into experiences people enjoy using. I believe great design goes past how a thing looks. It is about making something intuitive, accessible and meaningful enough to solve a real problem for a real person.

Design should make life easier, not more complicated.

BEFORE YOU ASK

The questions I get most.

These are concept projects. Does that count?
Fair question. Concept work fails when it starts from an imagined solution. Mine starts from a documented problem with sources you can check, and I mark every untested assumption as untested. What you are judging is my thinking, and that part is real.
How long is the case study?
About six minutes end to end. The problem, the research, the version I got wrong, the version that replaced it, and what I still need to test.
What did you personally do?
All of it. Research, personas, journey mapping, information architecture, wireframes, the design system, both prototypes. There is no team to hide behind.
What are you looking for?
A UI/UX role on a team that ships to real users, especially where access, accessibility or low-connectivity constraints are part of the problem.
Can I see the full deck?
Yes, it is right here. Thirty four slides, the same ones I would walk you through in an interview.
